Database Description
- Data source: Emergency Events Database (EM-DAT). The file public_emdat_incl_hist_2026-08-24.xlsx was downloaded at url https://public.emdat.be/data on 2026/08/24.
- The fields in the Disastats database (see Record List) are a subset of those in the Excel file. In addition, the StartYear, StartMonth, StartDay, EndYear, EndMonth and EndDay fields have been concatenated into the Start and End fields. The fields Region and Subregion are renamed Continent and Region.
